Toward Geospatial World Forum 2026: GEOmedia among the official media partners

From 27 April to 1 May 2026, the city of Amsterdam will host the Geospatial World Forum 2026, one of the leading international gatherings dedicated to geospatial technologies, Earth Observation, and digital transformation. Bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, research institutions, and technology innovators from across the globe, the Forum offers a unique platform to explore the evolving role of geospatial data as a strategic asset for governance, economic development, and societal resilience.

Set against the forward-looking theme “Sovereignty, Economy & Society”, the 2026 edition focuses on how nations and organizations are redefining control over data, infrastructure, and digital ecosystems, while leveraging geospatial intelligence to drive sustainable and inclusive growth. Over five days of high-level summits, thematic seminars, and international partner events, participants will engage with cutting-edge applications ranging from digital twins and GeoAI to climate resilience, infrastructure management, and space-based services.

A Structured Program for a Transforming Industry

The program of Geospatial World Forum 2026 is designed as a multi-layered ecosystem that reflects the increasing integration of technologies, markets, and policies within the geospatial domain. The combination of Summits, Seminars, and Partner Events provides a comprehensive perspective on both strategic vision and operational applications.

At the highest level, the Summits address key structural domains of the geospatial economy. The AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) track explores the convergence between geospatial technologies, BIM, and digital twins, highlighting their role in infrastructure resilience and the digital transformation of the built environment. The Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure summit focuses on the creation of interoperable data ecosystems, positioning geospatial knowledge as a foundation for digital sovereignty and governance. Meanwhile, the Defence & Intelligence track examines the growing importance of GEOINT, artificial intelligence, and multi-domain security in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.

Complementing these strategic discussions, the Seminars delve into application-driven domains where geospatial technologies are delivering measurable impact. Climate Resilience & Disaster Management addresses the urgent need for data-driven approaches to risk mitigation and environmental monitoring. The Hydrospatial Infrastructure & Blue Economy seminar highlights the role of marine geospatial data in ocean governance and sustainable resource management. Agriculture focuses on precision farming and food security, while Utilities & Networks explores the management of critical infrastructure through smart systems and digital twins. Business Intelligence examines how geospatial data is transforming corporate decision-making, and Space2Earth bridges the gap between space-based assets and real-world applications.

The program is further enriched by Partner Events, which reinforce the global dimension of the Forum. The Global Geodesy Supply Chain Summit addresses the foundational role of geodesy in global infrastructure and positioning systems, while the 3rd India–Europe Space & Geospatial Business Summit provides a strategic platform for international cooperation, fostering new partnerships between two of the most dynamic geospatial markets.

Sponsors and Partners

The Geospatial World Forum 2026 is supported by a wide ecosystem of leading organizations across the geospatial, space, and digital infrastructure sectors. These include global technology providers, Earth Observation companies, mapping and GIS leaders, as well as institutional and research partners contributing to the development of the geospatial economy.

The sponsorship structure typically spans multiple tiers—ranging from strategic and platinum partners to industry sponsors and institutional supporters—reflecting the strong involvement of both private and public stakeholders in shaping the future of geospatial technologies.

From Technology to Societal Impact

What clearly emerges from the structure of the Forum is a shift from purely technological innovation toward systemic impact. Geospatial technologies are no longer confined to data acquisition and mapping; they are becoming essential tools for addressing global challenges such as climate change, infrastructure resilience, security, and sustainable development.

In this context, the theme “Sovereignty, Economy & Society” encapsulates a broader transformation. Geospatial data is increasingly seen as a strategic resource, enabling nations to strengthen governance, industries to innovate, and societies to become more informed and resilient. The Forum thus positions itself not only as a technological event, but as a platform where data, policy, and society converge to shape the future of the digital world.

A Global Platform for Collaboration

By bringing together stakeholders from across government, industry, academia, and international organizations, Geospatial World Forum 2026 continues to play a pivotal role in fostering dialogue and collaboration at a global scale. Its 2026 edition in Amsterdam reinforces this mission, offering a strategic vantage point to understand how geospatial technologies are evolving from specialized tools into core infrastructures of the digital society.
