Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are pleased to invite you for the FIG Congress 2026, a conference that will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 24 to 29 May 2026. The four conference days wil be 25-28 May, FIG General Assembly takes place on 24 and 29 May. Pre-events are expected to start from 23 May.

This remarkable gathering is proudly hosted by the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), in collaboration with our local host, the South Africa Geomatics Institute (SAGI) supported by South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) as well as related national agencies, institutions and professional bodies. The event will be supported by many of the FIG Partners including the United Nations and its structures, the World Bank and other Professional partners. Around 1,500 participants from up to 100 countries are expected. 

The theme of the FIG Congress 2026, The Future We Want - The SDG's and Beyond, presents a pivotal moment to accelerate action, foster innovation, and shape the next era of global sustainable development for surveyors, geospatial experts and their related professions. This Congress will bring together thought-leaders, policymakers, and experts to explore how land governance, geospatial intelligence, and technological advancements can drive sustainability, resilience, and equitable growth beyond 2030.

Each of the conference days will start with a plenary session setting the scene for the day and with specially selected keynote speakers followed up by technical sessions special sessions, partner sessions, technical tours and networking activities.
